Play Along brings others a playful glimpse into an alternative world of creatures and experiences. Composed of a pair of large interior lit inflatables that are holding hands, with led matrix blinking eyes. These characters create a family dynamic that feels safe and lighthearted, inviting others to come Play Along. The larger inflatable has large scalloped piping treatment of 7 of the main seams along its body, standing at 6 feet tall. The smaller inflatable includes a propeller hat, standing at 4 feet tall. The sculpture is sewn with waterproof PU coated ripstop nylon, and inflated with a bounce house fan.
The inflatables will be weighted down with sand bags that will be placed inside of them and have hitch hooks to enable additional support by staking them down to the ground.
The electronics will run off the Circuit playground Express microcontroller, supporting both the LED matrix eyes and the strip lighting that will light the bulk of the inflatable body. Strip lighting will be hung inside the inflatable using sewn in loops.
Light up propeller toys will be available to play with and take home as you interact with the work, that tie in the propeller hat worn by the inflatable.
